And the first layer of dark paint is placed. The second layer of medium paint is done too, with the color corrected.

Now I could apply the black paint, or keep designing the "skin" of the plane, maybe the floats.

Let's see. The model is coming easily, and it's one of my favourite planes, so...

Cockpit completed and painted, nose gun completed and painted too. As I said, the nose gun can turn 360º

The circle over the copilot head is a navegation aid, and if you knew the position of the stars, it will let you use them as a compass.

Excellent. Why can't more models have moving turrets?

The dorsal turret is finished

There were a lot of different models of turrets, so I had to use a picture of the real plane as a guide to build the right one.

Sooner or later I'll have to build all of them, because I'm building 11 different versions, and each model will be having the right turret.

Siwi: I have no idea. To make them movable, you need two more parts, that's all. Ok, and two more to make the gun go up and dow. Four parts total, it's not much work.

Thanks, gomidefilho!

I've keep assembling the fuselage. Almost finished the tail!!!!

And still making a bit of research, so I changed the paint ahead of the cockpit. I'm basing the new scheme in the one found in the Revell plastic model instructions, that is closer to the one shown in the real plane pictures.

I saw that the dark colors are difficult to print, so I'll include a bit of brightness when necessary. I have been told that the Epson printers don't have this problem.

You can see too that the pit for the tail gun is placed, and that the new section of skin already includes the lower side.

Made some small chages to the tail section, mainly the join between the lower side of the stabilizer and the pilon.

I started to test of the rear turret, this one is a semisphere and small. I think this one is going to be fixed in 1/100 scale. Maybe the frontal one too? Too soon for that.

And now comes... at last! the sponsons and the lower skin of the fuselage.

That is an elegant looking plane, very similar in profile to a blue whale. I would encourage making the colours lighter on any model since it helps make the scale convincing by reproducing what the eye expects at 'distance'.

Yes, Siwi, I made a test with some printers and from now on I'll brighten the dark colors of my models. It will include the 1/100 version of my He-115, actually being beta-tested. Thanks!
