Hmm, I tried that with the London and they either popped out or the wire bent when I was trying to get it into the hole, plus handling compressed the paper around the wire so there was a visible ridge over it. Maybe some stiff card shaped more to the side profile of the strut, plus using superglue, might get better results.

Maybe the hole was too small?. Anyway, a better glue is always a good solution. I like Testors Plastic Cement.

About the Alpha model, the nacelles are finished and glued. After dinner I'll paint them and upload the pictures

You can see that the central engine is above the lateral ones.

You can see the marks for the struts, on the wings, nacelles and top of the fuselage (the four ovals over the windows)

Now comes the propellers, wing struts and miscellanea.

Siwi, you can see here the wire taken from a 110V electric cable. Sorry by the photo quality, it was taken just for demostrative purposes.

Oh, that would solve the issue of creases caused by a single thick wire. I have plenty of junk old tech I can scavenge for these. They would be good for brake and cable lines too.

Testing the wing struts. I was planing to place the outer struts first, but the test told me that I must place the central ones first, and later the externals.
The "box" between wing and fuselage is just an testing aid.

You can see the pontoon-wing supports on the floor.
And building/testing the new tail gun placement, too.

There is going to be small changes in the shape of the conection between the supports and the fuselage. You don't need to make the wire reinforcements, it's just the way I do it. But if you have a strong glue, there won't be problems.

I was told in facebook that my alpha model, the one I'm painting, it's too bright, that the paint should be darker.
And he was right, so I darkened the colors and I'm repainting the plane.
Again, it doesn't affect you, because the model that will be available in ecardmodels has the colors straight from the WWII luftwaffe cathalog and not mixed by hand.
And the model in ecadmodels will have a lot of paneling and wheatering that mine doesn't have.
Anyway, the wing was repainted but the tail wasn't when I took the picture.

Meanwhile, I'm designing all the flaps and aileron actuators, antenae, counterweights, radiators, etc.

By the way, there has been a "fan" (that has shown once and againt that is no fan) who requested me an unpainted kit of this plane. As you know, the unpainted kits are used exclusively to make repaints. So, the less said, better.

Just designing and repainting.

You can see the colors with and without flash, with just a few seconds of difference. Again, yours will come with the colors printed.

Currently I have designed the engine exausts, the oil coolers and the triangular actuators of the central flap. Today I hope to print and test them.

The small handles over each cowl are designed too, but I don't believe that anybody can place them at 1/72 scale. Maybe at 1/33 it could be done.

Anyway, now comes the outer wings details, the rear turret and the final join of wings and fuselage.

Those colours look convincing in both of the test photos. As I am sure you are aware, trying to reproduce 'accurate' colours in a scale model is a tightrope act, because of the lighting conditions of the real plane, historical information on colour shades, and then adjusting for scale distance. Many plastic modellers deliberately add some variation in the colour over large surfaces anyway to add realism.


As for the cowl handles in 72nd scale, challenge accepted. Of course, they could be replaced with wire.
