Model complete
That is all. There is nothing more to this simple build.
As a summary, the purpose of this build is to see if it can be used as a baseline for the jet version. To that end, I enlarged NOBI's model which was stated as 1/48 scale by 145% to 1/33. However, when I measure the final model, it fell short of the desired scale by approximately another 15%. So the original is not really 1/48 scale. The model is too simple to enlarge to 1/33 accurately. It requires more sections and specifically a better way to attach the twin booms to the wings. Also, it is lacking landing gear bays and interior cockpit, so that has to be considered as part of a redesign. Looking forward to see Murph's version of the jet J21R. Isaac

Isaac, still a nice looking aircraft. Well done.

I agree with Gary. It still came out nice.

Good model Isaac but imho you should have stayed in original scale. Many older Nobi models have fit problems. By scaling them up problems get blown out too. When I used to build his models I usually scaled them a bit down while rearranging parts on pages. Good models for times but they need a bit more of model input and invention. Newer models are world class-nearly perfect fit.
Your Saab reminded me of Fokker D.XXIII. Aside from looks they didn't have anything in common. |

As for the Fokker, you are absolutely right. The arrangement other than the engine in the nose are very similar. The fokker design used two small engines instead of one large one that the J21 used. That freed up the nose to carry all the guns firing thru the centerline of the airplane. Isaac

Whew... not a lot of clearance for the prop to the ground...
It must have been a real nail biter to land. |

That's why pusher planes have really tall landing gears. Isaac
