I'm vaguely aware of Skoda D1 only because I've seen one from KP models. I had no idea this is French Dewoitine design.

Very nice model. You have a good hand for biplanes and parasol type fighters.

Thank you Karol!

In fact the Dewoitine D1 is the first version of a long series of parasol fighter that culminate in the Dewoitine D37. the Skoda D1 is the version produced under license in the then Czechoslovakia. If I'm not mistaken, it was the first aircraft with an all-metal fuselage produced there. The Skoda D 1 is actually the Dewoitine D21, a slightly larger plane than the D1 with new engines (especially the Lorraine Dietrich 12E engine in W) and was used by Argentina and Switzerland. I know you're targeting Artvars soon. This weekend I should start the Japanese and French machines.

Timid start to build two more Dewoitine D1s, one "bis" and one "have" an Aeronavale machine and another a Japanese evaluation copy (Japan ended up not adopting the D1, preferring the NiD-29C1 built under license by Nakajima. the Dewoitine D1 was adopted by the Imperial Army would be built by Mitsubishi.

Start of wings...

Well my friends after some time we showed again the work in the Dewoitine D1 series, in the photographs some aspects of the double construction. To speed up the construction I like to prepare all the smaller pieces together and then build wings and fuselage and then put them all together. As the construction of the model in relation to the wing and fuselage junction was simple, I chose to use a hot-cut styrofoam cylinder as a construction jig. Some very small details were built with table loupes and finally small touches were done with acrylic paint and PVA.

Japan machine. Japan bought one pre-production Dewoitine D1Bis for intent make a licence production by Mitsubishi in 1920's but Japan prefer Nieuport-Delage NiD-29 (Korozawa Ko 4).

The next pair of D1 is a Yugo machines (Bis and Ter), but I think in the second half of the next month.

These are terrific Pericles. To me there's always a certain charm with these early parasol type fighters.

This is a great pair of early carrier aircraft, Péricles, and both models are up to your usual outstanding craftsmanship.

I am interested in learning more about the D.1 in Japanese service. It is not mentioned in any of the resources on my shelf. I have found a few images on the Internet, but only two substantive sources that tell me that the Japanese Army purchased (presumably around 1923) one example for research (+++ Japanese Army Aviation 1919-1939 +++) and that the aircraft they purchased was the fifth pre-series aircraft (Dewoitine D 1 - fighter).

I would be very grateful for any additional sources of information on this interesting airplane in Japanese service/evaluation.

Many thanks my friends!

Don look for Avions Magazine Editor Lela Presse ISSN 1243-8650 Nº 48, 49, 50, 51 and 52 - march/july of 1997.

This editions cover all Dewoitine early fighters until D27, Avions have a issue cover Dewoitine D19 from Argentina but I not remenber the number.

I have a plastic modelling magazine Replic cover a conversion of KP Skoda D1 to D1 ter tomorrow I indicate the references of Issue.

For the Yugoslavian machines I intent make in september my idea is use a Mushroom Yugoslav Fighter Colors Vol. 1 1914-1918.
