OverSavior's 1/100 shelf

Figured I'd make a single thread for all my aviation stuff to not create a separate one for each model. With a neat list, too, to keep track of what I've made so far. 1/100 scale proved to be addicting : )

List:
T-9 Whippet (own, download included)
MD-3 Mule tow tractor (own, download included)
Aermacchi S-311/M-345 (Scissors & Planes)

For the first post here, the M-345 I assembled yesterday. I really wanted to get more trainer jets, partially for how cool they are and partially to have something to compare my T-9 Whippet to. I think there was an error with the 2929 pdf where the splitter plates were painted black instead of fuselage gray, so if Bruno reads this you might want to check it, but otherwise the build went smooth. The only thing I'm a little sad about is that I couldn't shape the canopy very well, but that's a minor thing. The model ended up being too back heavy to stand on its own three, so I put a piece of paper clip in the front to balance it out.

Nice work. Bruno is responsible for a lot of 1/100 addictions around here.

Well, the Whippet shows much potential for future contributions.

It's been so long since I posted anything. Mainly because I didn't craft much. Recently completed another model though which was a gift for my brother's birthday. Brent's repaint of Bruno's 1/100 An-2, scaled down to 1/180 to both make it more challenging and to save up shelf space.

During the process I was experimenting with silk threads and happened to come up with a convenient way to attach them to the model, something I never tried before. I would soak the thread in superglue while stretched so that it stays straight turning it into a wire essentially, then make tiny holes in the wings where the wire is supposed to attach, cut the wire with some extra length, bend the ends a little, and the insert them into the holes. Optionally leave a drop of glue where the hole is to secure the wire in place. Came out very solid, much better than trying to superglue the end to the surface.

Top build of a top repaint of a top design.

Good idea with the rigging 'wires' too. The rigid look is essential and you've obviously mastered it.
