Man, It's been a long time since I posted an update. I've been changing careers and moving. Needless to say, my life has been busy.
I've got some few things to share. I've been working on the cockpit quite a bit. There are still a few things I would like to include such as additional wires to replicate hydrolic lines, electrical lines, and additional structures such as the yoke and trim tabs. I also have a new task ahead of me. I've got to rebuild the engine.. again.. My damn dog ate it, AGAIN!! This time there is nothing to salvage. I'm subtly happy about it because there were a few things I didn't much like that I'll be able to do differently this time around. |

When there was a cat here, I used to keep parts in lunchbox containers with a good sealed lid, and some newspaper cushioning.
I found and purchased a fantastic ebook called Spitfire Mark by Mark recently - Spitfire and Seafire | Illustrated guide to all marks and variants It is a very thorough and well-researched document covering literally every variant of the Spitfire and Seafire (some have more than one example) with an upper and lower graphic drawing for each aircraft, plus a glossary of all the props, wings, canopies, armaments and markings.

Ayoh, that's bloody awful. Your dog has no respect to your artwork.... The cockpit just looks fantastic, again. Amazing all these instrument details. By the time the model is finished you will have become an expert on Spitfires and no doubt that any good museum will be interested to display the model?

Siwi, I looked into the eBook you linked. I can only see so many pictures from it though. Does it have design drawings, schematics, and close ups of all the internal components as well? I've currently got a eBook thats pretty good, but it doesn't mention much of the rear fuselage components, engine components, and a few other minor details. I'd be intrigued to but it and I likely will.
Eric, I hadn't even considered that there would be organizations that would want to display my work. To be honest, That would be pretty insane, I would be super proud to have my work displayed in a museum. Man.. what an accomplishment that would be!! I'd have to do some research on what it would take to even have that happen... Imagine, the RAF Museum of London displaying it.. |

Sadly it only covers external details, probably because to include all the internals as well would be years' worth of work to research and draw for every type of Spitfire.

I have no other words to say, except that it is the work of a craftsman.
I can't wait to see the final model. YOAV |

There is a retired engineer on Grabcad who could be a useful source of information, He is producing a CAD model down to every nut and bolt so might be able to direct you to a comprehensive source.
