Happy 75th Birthday DHC-2
The maiden flight of the De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver was on August 16, 1947. By 1967, when the original assembly line closed, more than 1,600 Beavers had been constructed. The tooling and type certificate for the Beaver have been acquired by Viking Air who continue to produce replacement components and refurbish examples of the venerable Beaver.
This is an invitation to anyone who has constructed a DHC-2 or -2T paper model from any designer to post a photo (past, current, or in progress) in commemoration of this diamond year for the Beaver. DGA (Design Group Alpha), who have posted a number of Beavers on Ecardmodels, have indicated that the proceeds from a purchase of their DHC-2 or -2T models in August will be donated to the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre in Sault Ste. Marie in Ontario, Canada. Regards, John |

That is a very fine Beaver repaint and build, Yankeekilo.
Photo of my recolour of a DGA DHC-2 in progress. It is in an early CF-FHZ scheme while with Great Northern Airways. My son-in-law's father flew it around many lakes and rivers in the Yukon. Regards, John |
