Once again, thanks for the interested comments; not sure that this will ever make it as a kit, though, after this work stage; the process of overlaying the basic hull has proved a bit tricky - not sure that I'd wish that on anyone as there have been a few discards and repeats for a number of parts, especially round the nose.
I suppose I always knew that the curvaceous front would be somewhat problematical; the double curves in card didn't work out as well as I had planned and a deal of trial and error for the entrance hatch was needed. Still, here it is; not as good as I would have liked but it's my best shot. Away to the computer again now to resume developing the wing components. Best wishes to all Chris |

As always, many thanks for your kind comments; it truly is a very elegant and futuristic aircraft and, indeed, very huge, a fact that is becoming increasingly apparent as I approach designing the wings!!
For the present, however, the tail assembly is now complete (after five weeks of work I see from my last post, not a rapid progress at all!) A lot of discards and remakes, the three dimensionally curved transition between end plates and flying surfaces being very troublesome; starting off with trying to develop it on the computer and then adjusting on the card framework and part completed work and then modifying the drawing. Can’t say I’m totally happy with them as installed but there’s only so much fitting, pulling apart and then trying again that I can stand! Wings now and perhaps these will be a bit more straightforward?? Best wishes to all Chris |

What a fantastis rendition of this majestic airplane. I only hope that it will be available for sale. It is worth building.

For context: this required 6 engines, nearly 10,000hp, 43m wings x 57.4m long, all for 46 passengers.
DC-7C: 4 engines, 13,600hp, 105 passengers, 39m wings x 34m long Airbus A321: 2 engines, 236 passengers, 35.8m wings x 44m long |
