These little models are a good and rewarding diversion. Types like the F4U can be put together in a few hours.

Looks fun! These crazy vertical designs came from the belief that the Soviets would destroy runways at the start of a war and so interceptors were needed that didn't require them. That really is very tidy in such a small scale.

A complex model in that tiny scale. I remember building a plastic model of this aircraft and reading about the prototypes, then under test by the Navy in the 1950s.
