1/144 15000th P-40

Here is a repaint of Bruno's P-40, that I started back in Feb of 2021.
The original is in 1/100, I rescaled it to 1/144. The kit has languished,
cut out, in its little container for a long time. I built this one in about an
8 hour period. I didn't build it great, but a rather a quick, brutish build
just to make sure the markings line up. Excepting one little area, they did.

The kit will be available at Ecardmodels.com shortly.

For a “brutish” build, it looks awfully darn good. Nice work!

One of the most satisfying moments for a repainter. The markings lining up!

Nice work Ray.

Great model.

I first saw an image of this airplane on the cover of Bruce Robertson's 1956 Harleyford book, Aircraft Camouflage and Markings 1907-1954. My late Baltimore buddy, Jim Reuter (JimR in this Forum) bought it when it came out and we both spent hours pouring over it.

It's fun to see that book cover come to life in your model.

I saw the cover of that book for the first time in 1966 when I was a 10-year-old boy and for years I wondered why there are so many badges from different countries; later I understood and now Ray brings us this magnificent recolor and construction. Thanks to Ray and Don for bringing back memories of my childhood. Greetings. tigertony100.

Great job, and I would never have guessed it was a quick build from the pictures.
