Dec. 5 1919. Foundation of the Colombian-German Air Transport Society (Scadta). In January 1920 Engineer Werner Kämmerer, as representative of Scadta, meets with the directors of the Junkers factory in order to negotiate the aircraft and in April .13 1920 scadta acquires a Junkers F13.
Scadta's Junkers F13 was initially painted in the Colombian national colours, bright yellow, blue and red.
The Junkers F13s were not fully conditioned for tropical weather, these had to be modified to withstand the conditions of the tropics

Fascinating subject this. Hardly an attractive type, the F.13 has an undeniable period charm.

Thanks for posting mate!

Avianca initially placed an order for two Avro HS-748 twin-turboprops, which were delivered in September 1968. By mid-1973, AVIANCA finally withdrew the last DC-4s from service and put them up for sale. They were replaced by the two Avro 748 turboprops and the rest of the domestic routes in purely jet equipment.

Certainly a striking colour scheme for this period of Avianca.
