A total of 30 737-100s were ordered: 22 by Lufthansa, 5 by Malaysia–Singapore Airlines (MSA) and 2 by Avianca , it did not performed well with the airline, a lot of FOD events were reported due to the engines being so closed to the ground

The legendary Lockheed L-749A Constellation arrived in the fleet and strengthened our routes to Europe. Destinations like Madrid or Paris witnessed the arrival of these legends.

AVIANCA bought five Curtiss C-46 cargo carriers in 1950: HK-156, HK-157, HK-158, HK-164 and HK-165. they were purchased from the United States Air Force. They were not painted in the full livery of the time. All were sold in 1955 to Riddle International Airlines. They were replaced by Douglas C-54 freighters.
