Boelcke's D-II From EcardModels in 1/33rd Scale

All,

I just finished reading Oswald Boelcke's letters home and so thought this would be a good next project. I've just started getting some little parts done. Next...I'll start the fuselage assembly.

Stay tuned!

Dan

Good-looking plywood Albatros. I look forward to seeing images when the storage issue is fixed and at the Zoom tomorrow.

Thanks, Don. Here are, I hope, some shots! Forward fuselage is all done except for some cowling and spinner work. I think I may start the engine and guns next, though...

Thanks, Yoav...I got some more done. She is armed (almost done) and I've started with the engine. More to go but it looks pretty nice. I may modify the nose shape a bit if the spinner looks odd, but we'll see.

Cheers,
Dan

Thank you very much, Gary. I hope it keeps going this well!

I got the engine intakes and exhausts on and not it looks a bit more finished. I'm also working on the petal spinner. This is the first petal design I really nailed so I'm pleased. However...I don't think the shape is quite right so I'll be filling and sanding it anyway. Dang. Oh, well...more soon!

A bit more before the site is wonky this weekend...lower wings roughed in but not attached yet.

Cheers,
Dan

All,

Moving along here...

I got my bottom wings on, made my interplanes and attached the top wing too! Now I'll work on the cabanes. All seems straight and true although I do see a tad on anhedral in the lower wings but it isn't too noticeable. Perhaps my interplanes should have been shortened a tad.

I'll still take it as a win. Sweet...Dan
