F-16a Netz (Yoav design)

Hello all, didn't post a new model for more than 6 months after the two seats vampire completion.
This F-16a Netz served in the Israeli Air Force and is credited with 6.5 enemy aircraft kills and participated in Operation Opera, bombing the Osiraq nuclear reactor.



The model is one of Yoav's excellent designs, scale of 1-33, with detailed landing gear. Yoav has a very detailed thread on this model, so, not planning to detail every building part.











Didn't fined detail drawings of the main landing gear bay, so I used a plastic model picture of detailed bay as reference, scaled it to the model scale.

Hey Mor, that's a very good start. I've built this model 3 years ago and enjoyed every minute of it. Wasn't aware at the time that there's a landing gear option to it. I used the landing gear of GPM's F16C/D of the IAF but had to alter it here and there as there's a difference with the F16A and the fit of the landing gear bays was somewhat problematic. In any case it was a very interesting experience to "mix" two different models.

Good luck with your build. In 1:33 or reduced to your favorite 1:50 scale? Note that Yoav's models are in 1:30.

Thanks Eric. Yoav didn't provide an optional landing gear, I am screatchbuilding it to this model. Original model was at a scale of 1:30, all my models are to 1:33 scale. I printed it at 0.91 size.

Nice progress on the F-16. It is a good looking model. I have it on my to do list.

However, I like you and many others always delay it's build because of the landing gear bay issues ( same with all of Yoav's designs ). Not that it is too complicated, but that it requires modifications to the support structure of some of those models ( currently building his beautiful meteor F8 ) and is just another thing to do when all I want is to build and not design these mods.

I think it would be really nice if you and others that have better computer graphics skills upload the landing gear bay parts file in pdf format. This way when downloading these beautiful designs that Yoav has given us all, we can now have a good set of landing gear bays.

please also add the nose gear bay ( I would like to build the F-16 next as well ).

Thank you. I too agree that all models should have at a minimum their landing gears. It is much easier to not use them for those few that elect to place them in a flying position.
