Meteor F8-Yoav design in 1/30 Take 2
This is a new thread in the build of the superbly designed and rendered version from Yoav of the British Meteor F.8 in Israeli Air Force colors.
Second attempt since the first one was printed on really nice card paper that unfortunately did not like to be rolled or bent. Here is a link to the first attempt: Gloster Meteor F8-Yoav design. Take 1 So I waited until my tried and true cardstock arrived via my friend in Japan. I orders 3 stacks of 160 gsm and one of 200 gsm just in case. here is that paper. however, I noted that the thickness of this same pack that I always purchase is a bit thinner, but still looks and feels the same. Anyhow, all the pages were printed on this new paper, so lets see. Here are some of the newly printed parts. The first build is in the background Isaac

Isaac,
The kit printed very nicely on the paper, colours look great too. Good luck. Gary

Good start after the test build on less-than-satisfactory paper.

Fuselage sections
Here are the fuselage parts
and formed. Mostly rounded front and back with a more box like center Notice there is no seam on the bottom. Yoav elected to form two seams on the demarcation line instead. This way, it blends better and is not obvious. I wonder if a single side seam at the same demarcation line would have been just as good? In any case, the results came out good. Isaac

Nose section
Here are the pieces. Notice the extreme nose section having black and white quarters is not a real petal design, but rather one piece with 4 cuts that is shaped into a dome.
the rest of the nose. Of note, None of Yoav's designs has a landing gear nor bay, so if anyone wants to place it on its landing gear needs to either make their own or use a similar model with modifications. Info later. Isaac

Cockpit tub
The cockpit tub is a simple one piece design that is glued to itself to make the shape. There are simple additions to the side panels.
It will be inserted once the fuselage is completed. Another option is to glue it to the nose section later on and then join the nose to the rest of the fuselage. Will discuss that topic later as well Isaac

Aft fuselage
As stated before, there is no single seam on the bottom for these sections. They are on the sides at the demarcation lines which does a great job in hiding them.
Here are the frames. This version has the Hebrew markings, but I think the one Yoav released to all is in English. Aft sections add the center section where the wing spars go thru going forward now. Isaac

Avoiding a join line at the bottom is something I would like to see more of. Particularly on WW2 era fighters, this is often where the profile curve is most extreme and the paper hardest to join tightly and neatly. There was often not even a panel line there anyway.
