Certainly one of the prettiest examples of the venerable Tiger Moth.

A new Tiger Moth, this time in the colors of the Australian army during the Second World War?

Well no! Because you can see, on the following photos that this plane is SMALLER than the real Tiger Moth (here in French colors).

This plane is actually a Fisher Flying Products R-80, an 8/10 amateur-built replica of the English biplane, available as a kit for $14999.

Contour Creative model scaled down from 1/48 to 8/10 of 1/72.

Great model Jan. I've never heard of Fisher Flying Products up to now.

Bit of info on the real A17-494. Though painted thus, it never actually saw RAAF service. Along with a handful of others, it was acquired straight from a RAAF Aircraft Allocation Depot by the USAAF 5th AF and used by them in a communications role at their 46th Air Base Group in Darwin.

Fifteen thousand dollars? That's a ridiculous price for a paper model kit!

Considering the French being known for having a keen eye for beauty, they sure came up with some ugly ducklings during the twenties and thirties!
Another great model Jan.
