All for the weekend. Cabanes, rigged except the front cabane with the little tear-drop shaped wood piece and 4 of the double flying wires but it sure looks nice to me. Waiting for all the fumes from the kicker to dry before tackling the rest tomorrow.

Have a good week...Dan

Hi;

Very beautiful !! I have one question, how did you make the cowling so .. round ? It seems so perfectly round that at first i thought it was a plastic part !

Thanks !
JC

You forgot to give the link, so here's Dan's YouTube channel. Check out his playlist for the other interesting paper models that he's built.

Thanks, Guys...and thanks, Gene, for putting the link in there. It may be fun for some folks especially if they've never built a paper model before!

JC: I basically made it like the kit with paper etc. but then I fill the inside with thick super glue (you could use epoxy too) and then I just sand it, prime it, putty, sand, prime, putty, sand, prime...etc. After a while, it really looks like a plastic part. Many really talented paper modelers don't even need to resort to this and just use the kit parts and they are amazing. I have never been able to touch their abilities, however! I do like my cowlings to be nice and metal-like, though.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Dan

Well this dang thing is sort of falling together. Finished the rigging and got the landing gear on. Straight and true as per the kit. Neat.

I would say this is a masterpiece Dan! Very clean and precise build. You must have an impressive WW1 aircraft collection by now I guess. Will check out your YouTube channel as well soon .

Cheers,
Erik

That is exactly the sort of language I used to describe one of my recent Kartonowa Kolekcja builds. I'm a big, big fan of Pawel's work, but I think I said that somewhere already.
