Well, black lines are gone..... not sure it was any improvement. It's hard to duplicate that weathered paint scheme.

Looking good to me, Bluenoser! I would suggest just taking a bit of white paint dulled slightly with gray to put over the entire front end of the wheel fenders. Doesn't need to be camouflage really.

In my opinion, it would have been better to leave the black lines.

Try to reprint and rebuild....if you scanned the model before you built it.

I did not scan the model. I did make several copies of the canopy framing as I anticipate not getting that on my first try.

I came to the conclusion that to make the wheels it was going to have to be done in multiple layers of discs.
The kit provided four wheel diameters (2 per side) but no tire tread. Two layers on heavy card stock isn't going to produce even a scale bicycle tire in terms of thickness. So I cut a bunch and starting layering it up with a few smaller ones on the ends to add some shape and reduce some sanding. Images below are the results.

I was not interested in having the wheels rotate so I just added a small stub spacer and then another small kit supplied disc for the purposes of mounting it. This outer kit supplied disc will slide neatly into the structure cutout inside the wheel fairings.

Did a little prep work on the canopy framing. The glazing spots have been opened up and some paint applied to the inside surfaces. It's a reasonable match to the inner cockpit colour.
I added a 'block' (dark painted spot) to the pilot's sliding canopy where it's supposed to clear an antenna installation on the glazing behind it. The kit showed this space not connected to the frame forward of it which is not right.

I also started the machine guns. The butt mounting of the gun barrel to the gun body was less than inspiring. I inserted a pin and pushed it all the way back into the gun body and liberally applied glue to it, then slid on the barrell. It's pretty solid now.
