Glad you all enjoyed it! Gotta have fun and, as Monty Python would say, always look on the bright side of life...
Well, this was fun. This kit is pretty wild. There are parts that have amazing 3-D printing and coloring that are very realistic. Then there are few 1980s drawing scribbles thrown in to spice things up....like the seat cushions. Hmm... After lots of playing around, this is the result. I THINK it's all ok, but I won't know until I start adding more stuff. Not sure how to get the rear started but that's today's task. One shot of the instrument panel is suppose to show that I added some clear glass from plastic wrap. Doesn't look too great in the photo but I know it's there! ![]() Anyway, just dropped the family off at the airport and they are on their way to Mpls. so I'm left to my own devices for the week and have tomorrow off! Lock up your model supplies. Your sons and daughters are likely safe...Dan |

Much more detail than mine. Looks really good. Continued success in building this model to you.

Thanks, Greg. Here is a bit more...largely guess work. This is the definition of "fiddly". Not sure what the folks that designed this were smoking when they decided on much of this.
I think it'll come together, but it's going to be a 3 footer, that's for sure. More tomorrow...Dan |

After lots of head scratching and losing multiple religions, here is the result.
Actually look fine. Everything fits very precisely...eventually. ![]() I think the main issues are that the drawings are not really all that complete with the detail necessary to put it together. And they are very small so you do end up guessing. Sometimes with disastrous results. Perhaps the real issue is that this is the first model I've made that may actually require reading the instructions so that's an issue for a non-native speaker! I also had another "moment". I was so pleased with the rear gunner's area that I put the skins on and it looks darn good. THEN I realized I forgot to add the interior skin so right now, that area is just white! I think I can rescue it a bit but a rookie mistake... ![]() Coming along, though. Thanks for looking! Dan |

Another life lesson learned the hard way. That will teach you not to forget the interior skin on this complicated little monster.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I love the bright instrument panel and other small details that bring out the life of this model to light. Keep up the good work. Isaac

Thanks a lot, Isaac. Slowly but surely!
I got much more done than I thought today with skinning the wings, adding the wing root skins and attaching said wings to the stubs. I hope I haven't shot myself in the foot but I think this will help me align the tails. The two wings spars have triangular ends that fit into a box you make by sandwiching some straight pieces on either side. When you slide them it, the dihedral is correctly set. Sort of ingenious as far as I'm concerned. I do know, however, that I could never make this thing with all cardboard from cereal boxes. My balsa has made things so much easier (for me). There are a few rough spots and some touch up, but I'm pleased overall. Now I need to figure out the back and tails and the rather long and tortuous fillet. Oh my... Dan |

Starting to look like a (very short) airplane.
Looks like your standard miraculously clean and precise work. Don |

I noticed a slightly different shade of brown on the wings. Especially the left inner and outer wing sections. Is that so or is it a photo illusion?

Thanks, Folks...
I think it's just a trick of the light. I have not made any adjustments or airbrushing etc. I may when it's done, though? Dan |

Carp Fans!
Running way behind Greg, I did get a chunk done on this machine. Again, everything does fit but it takes lots of trial and error and testing and re-testing and head-scratching. I guess, that's just typical model building! So far so good. Lots more to do but I'm chuffed I've gotten this far. Never thought I'd see it looking like an airplane about a week ago. Pretty straight, too. More soon when I put on the movable bits and then the fillet. Thanks for looking, Dan |
