Exclamation Nacelles attached

Cut a hole in the nacelles to allow the metal rod to penetrate and also added a small stub metal rod to the front.

I kept small pieces of the wing to act as tabs to glue to the nacelles. In hindsight, they are not needed.

The metal music wire looks like it is working very well Isaac. The inner wing sections and nacelles look pretty good. Keep it up.

Smile t.7 / NF.11

Hello Isaac,

I just started looking for scale drawings of T.7 and NF.11.
I got some good ones for the trainer version, but as of yet nothing for NF.11.

Any help with scale drawings will be greatly appreciated

Anyway, I will start a separate thread on 'Design Threads' soon to keep yours clear.

All the best with your F.3 version!

It appears that the night fighters NF11 and NF13 were externally the same ( or nearly same ). It is an F8 aircraft with a T7 canopy and an entirely new long nose for the radar.

Some pics here

The camouflage is the same as what Yoav designed for his Israeli F8 version.

You can use it for your new thread.

Thanks

Very smart Isaac, to use the long metal pin for overall reinforcement and lateral alignment of the wing sections. Like beads on a string. As well as the front pin for longitudinal alignment of the engine nacelles. In a way, placing your own stamp on the model in this way must be quite satisfying, if the proper fit doesn't come from the model itself .

Exclamation Outer wing

For some reason, the designer of this model kept a small strip that is part of the outer wing as part of the inner extended wing on the nacelle outer section. Why, I don't know.
Gloster Meteor mk 3- Fly models in 1/33 scale-img_8186.jpg

I cut if off, added a glue strip to the outer wing at that joint and glued together so I have one outer wing section and not two.
Gloster Meteor mk 3- Fly models in 1/33 scale-img_8187.jpg

after gluing, notice the mismatch in the green camo color ( what a screw up even for an old hand drawn design ).
Gloster Meteor mk 3- Fly models in 1/33 scale-img_8188.jpg

I added a rib ( part 16A ) to the outer nacelle where the outer wing will join. Notice the metal rod is piercing thru.
Gloster Meteor mk 3- Fly models in 1/33 scale-img_8189.jpg

I replaced the inner wing structure with balsa wood for the shape and strength. I also added two inner strips of wood for the metal rod to be supported.

Fold over and glue along the trailing edge.

Exclamation Outer wings attached

At this point, I bent the metal music wire to a proper dihedral angle
Gloster Meteor mk 3- Fly models in 1/33 scale-img_8194.jpg

The wing slips in. The metal rod slips in between the inner balsa wood strip blocks inside the wing acting as a guide and support. Required a few dry fitting
Gloster Meteor mk 3- Fly models in 1/33 scale-img_8195.jpg

both wings are on.

inside view of attachment. The provided fillet will barely cover it later.

Outer nacelle to wing fillet. Notice the color mismatch. Prevalent throughout the model.

Your wing assembly made me think I should have done something similar with the upper wing construction on my Polikarpov. With that kit it is assembled as one piece but with three separate skins and that made it a bit challenging. I should have cut it in three separate sections so I got ideas from this so thanks. The Meteor is coming out nicely. I like the idea of building the same plane but from different kits, gives you a different insight to the subject. I'm playing with the idea of building the 'Night Witches' version too, now that I know how. ;-)
