1/33 Greek Fairey Battle | 33 Mira, Kouklaina, Greece 1940
Here's some history from the official Hellenic Air Force website (Fairey Battle B.1 - Hellenic Air Force):
"Eleven Battle B.1 were delivered in March 1940, part of an order of 12 airplanes, as the last one sunk aboard a ship that was hit by torpedo during the transport. These were given by RAF as a replacement of the 12 Blenheim IV that were confiscated. They operated with the 33rd Bombers Squadron and saw significant action during the Italian invasion in Greece. None of them survived the war." The original model is from a quite old Modelarstwo Modele Kartonowe, so it's not too accurate and not too easy to build either. My grandson, Kacper(PacificWind), redrawn and repainted it. Thanks to him, the plane not only looks better, but also has Greek markings. I'm sure the final result could've been better if I had used a thinner cardboard.
