Spitfire is finished with all painting done. I did better with the canopy on this one and in general matched the paint shades pretty closely. RAF Dark Green is a mixture of leaf green, yellow and black. Had another go at the propellor to get a better shape for the early 2-blade version.

As another quick and easy project I built PacificWind's Australian Hurricane recolour from the downloads section here. Almost out of the box save for cutting the wheel wells, glazing landing lights and canopy and using cocktail sticks for the gear legs. The prop will spin freely - a bit too freely, as it falls off if blown hard! I did rescale to 1:72 and tone down the colours before printing, and some subtle painting was done on the camo to give a more lifelike finish.

A two propeller blade Spit and a RAAF Hurricane! How wonderful. You should perhaps build a Halinski Spitfire, with its strikingly captured curved underside of the wings at the fuselage.

Thank you both for the encouraging comments. A Halinski kit...well, I've seen a few builds of them and they are certainly highly detailed. I think it might be as cheap for me to go on holiday to Poland and buy them than pay the shipping rates though! I have the Andrew Inwald Spitfire V from the downloads section here on my potential builds list
One thing these models allow us to do is compare the size of different aircraft from all angles, as in museums we only usually get a ground view, if the aircraft are even close to each other. In this case, I now appreciate how much larger the Hurricane is compared to a Spitfire in all dimensions. The pilots' opinion was that the Hurricane had a better view over the nose.
