Smile Boeing 727-200-Citycraft in 1/72 scale AA

I’m still in my travel trailer and will remain for another two weeks.

I started building the Citycraft Boeing 727-200 in American Airlines colors.

The model is a free download. However, I have no instructions at all for it.

If someone has the figures that place the parts visually, would appreciate it. Alternatively, I will use my experience and go slow.

Looking forward to seeing the build process! I haven't seen any instructions for the kit, but perhaps you might find build videos like this one handy. Good luck with the assembly!

Exclamation

Thank you. I have seen a similar video. Unfortunately it does not list the part numbers. So you still have to guess which part goes where. Most are straight forward, but some are confusing. And then there appears to be 3 sets of fuselage formers which make no sense.

Anyhow, I will watch the videos later as the RV park I am at has poor internet.

the formers are pretty much the same as on the 737NG in position. most of them work by being at the end of every fuselage segment. former 1 goes into the nosecone and former 15 in the tail.

for the antennas, first one goes on the upper fuselage (on the black line) the other 3 are on the bottom

File is the 737 NG instructions so you can see where the formers start/go

not entirely sure exactly where former 15 is probably C3 or C4

Hope it helps

The triple formers are so you can glue them together to make them thicker and stronger.

Exclamation The kit

The file contains all the parts needed for the build. All of them are nicely numbered and have a system that separates the various sub assemblies. And as stated earlier, there are no instructions.

The American Airlines version is the light grey scheme ( not the bare metal version ).

Here are some of the printed pages ( 160 gsm ).

Question Backwards glue tabs

Not sure why the designer has the glue tabs on the fuselage going from small to large parts? Normally it is the other way
