Bell UH-1 Iroquois (Huey) Helicopter

I became aware of the PaperModelers site a short time ago in the process of searching for paper helicopter plans. Have currently been working on a Viet Nam era Huey model purchased from the Etsy website. My background with paper modeling has previously been totally focused on complex paper automata downloaded from Paperpino, or purchased from Cool4Cats. This is the first time I've constructed as complex a paper model at this small scale. This model includes rather complex armament exterior to the body on each side, which I did not use. I wanted a model as authentic as the medevac choppers we used with the 1st Air Cavalray, with whom I served. Our choppers were unarmed. I also replaced the Playboy insignia on the model parts with 1st Cav insignia. While the directions are translated from Polish to English, the actual plan diagrams have comments only in Polish. Went to a Google Translate site to figure out the directions on the plans. In laminating the structural components to 0.5-1.0mm cardboard, I used Scotch Clear Glue. All other construction was done with various viscosities of CA - Super thin, medium, thick, and gel because I hate having to wait for other adhesives to set. I use Starbond manual pump (NOT pressurized can) accelerator extensively. I kept to the paper components with the exception of the pistons in the rotor head, and the landing gear. The pistons were made of brass tubing and rod. The landing gear was made of small bamboo skewers. Am attaching a series of photos of the finished model. A GREAT PROJECT!

Cool

Cool. Not often you see helicopters built out of cardstock.
