Here is an old thread showing a tool you can use to help position the bulkheads. If you do a web search or look around you could probably find some.

Ring Holding Tweezers

That is just straight up genius.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Re: the bulkheads…. I always fit them inside the assembly and if I’m using joining strips, I’ll inset the bulkheads and they usually butt up against the edge of the joining strip. This is an instance where fitting, sanding, refitting, sanding etc. helps go get a perfect fit. A normal fingernail emery board is good for sanding in this instance.

On the Twin Otters, I didn’t use joining strips, though. Once the glue is dry and I’ve sanded the ends of the assembly flush, I just glue the assemblies together and align them by hand before the glue sets up.

Speaking of CIA Twin Otters, here is an interesting article documenting the type’s history with Air America: AIR AMERICA: DE HAVILLAND CANADA DHC-6 TWIN OTTERs

Thanks much. Those look handy indeed, and I was able to find them online easily. I need all help I can get.

Thanks, dhanners, for the clarification. I'll try some different approaches and find out what works for me. That's the enjoyable part.
