Very nice work again, Dan. She's a great looking bird.

Hi Siwi,

The kit calls for a "stick or tight roll of paper" but tight roles of paper are something that has so far eluded me and my stick was a bamboo skewer which was a bit small. The Al tubing was just right! It is very light so I don't anticipate any gear issues. Time will tell! Thanks for looking and commenting.

Thanks so much Ray and Gary! It is a very, very well-designed model so it really is a nice break from more complicated subjects. It's sort of like in plastic modeling when someone says "throw some glue into the box, shake it and the model comes out". Very Tamyia-like or WingNutWings-like (for you WWI types). Definitely NOT 1950's Airfix!

Thanks, Isaac. It's simple enough that progress is pretty dang quick!

I put the landing gear and wheels on. I need to add a little retraction strut, but you can see the basic sit. Looks cool!

Scoops and guns next.

It's been a pleasure to watch this pretty airplane take shape.

Much appreciated, Don. She's almost done. I think my next post will have it all squared away.

Here you see the chin radiator, the guns and a lower and upper antenna. I dolled-up the oleo struts with a scissors connection, brake lines and some small circumferential wraps to give them some character. Also, I noted that there are some rib stiffeners you can see in the landing gear doors that I added. I think it needs a gun site, some wing tip lights, prop/spinner and finally a canopy.

Pretty darn close now!

Thanks for looking...Dan

For a simple kit, it’s very nicely detailed.

Looking very good maestro! Adding a few more details to the landing gear is very effective is my experience, especially brake lines, and a bit of weathering of the wheels and staining of the struts.
Will the inside of the cowling be lined as well, or will you paint it?

Cheers,
Erik

Looks great! Sorry to not chime in sooner, been attending a dumpster fire of a Rock festival in Virginia.
