Thanks Fred, Erik and Greg!

Fred: The artwork really makes this model. It seems more complicated and detailed than it actually is. The overall look is really nice.

Erik: I really messed that part up. I should have done something much sooner. I will try and paint that area a dark grey to sort of hide some things.

Not to worry, Greg. I look forward to hearing about this fire of which you speak!

More soon...Dan

Got the prop on. Spinner is a balsa-turned unit because...I lost the original paper spinner. And I was looking forward to those petals.

Really only the canopy and a couple of touches and she'll be done!

All finished! Added some wing tip lights, the canopy and a home-made ring sight. Only other additions were really added bits to the oleo struts/landing gear. A simple model elevated by the amazing artwork by the artist/manufacturer. A great first model, in my opinion. So much more could be done to really make it a stunner but just as is, very, very attractive.

Well now that I've finished this one, perhaps some of my Faith can be used for that little Japanese recon machine. Until then, here is a link to the final reveal video of the F.K. complete with patriotic music and a cute some about how nice Holland is!

Hi Dan, that one turned out very nice! Indeed, more details in the model could have been included but I wonder if still one machine or detailed drawings, pictures, etc. still exist. As far as I know the Koolhoven factory was completely destroyed in the opening days of the war and also nothing remained of Fokker aircraft the flew in the Dutch Air force, also no construction drawings. Only pictures.
I like your YouTube "Holland commercial", but hearing the Dutch national anthem while an aircraft in French livery turns around, is very confusing for the mind.....

Cheers,
Erik

It's a beauty, Dan. I'm sorry you were deinied the opportunity to fabricate the spinner from petals.

I note that Bruno offers a bundle of five different F.K. 58s in various liveries, including French (presumably one of the Polish patrouilles that flew in May 1940 with the Eskadra Koolhoven). So if you really would like to make one in 1/100 . . .

Thanks Don and Erik!

I know what you mean, Erik. I figured it's still a Dutch design and it seemed even weirder to have French tunes associated. Oh, well. Maybe next time.

Don: Thanks for this. I was unaware!

Thanks for looking and commenting.
