Don, I have been doing some research about the version of Neptune's Daughter.
Found that the JN914 was a MkII, so yours should be too.
The main difference between both versions was:
MkI: reconnaissance and communications, no tailhood, diagonal join between fixed and movible tail. Small air intake.
MkII: dedicated Search and Rescue, tailhood, squared join between fixed and movible tail. Larger air intake.
As you can see I started designing the JM960 as a MkI version, but as always I'll do each different paint scheme with the corresponding tail.

Keeping with the investigative stage of the Sea Otter
First, the number of planes to do went up from 8 to 10, including one from French Indochina and one from Egypt.
Second, each plane has been identified and I have pictures stored. You can see the difference with the MKI and MKII tails.
The Neptune's Daughter colors were Extra Dark Sea Grey and Sky. Some of her partners had letters in the tail, but not all of them.

Now comes the design of the parts, the assembly...

The inner reinforcements of the Sea Otter are almost finished.
The part "I" (still undraw) will help to guide the diedral of the wings and support the weight of the upper wings and engine. This part will be optional, because if you assemble the model with the wings folded then it will be removed.
You can see that the lower side of the hull isn't curved like any other flying boat that I have done, but with flat sections. It improved the real plane build, and will improve the paper model build, too.
I'm planning to do the landing gear with two positions (up and down), so the wing will have the openings where the wheel goes. I just have realized that the wheels could be assembled in each intermediate position!
Anyway, less time left!

Had some troubles with the 3d drawings. Some of them said that the external floats were half a circle (seen from ahead), others said they were almost flat.
At last I had to search until I found this picture, so another detail solved.
Solving some real life problems, too
