@Isaac – indeed! Silly mistake Not too problematic, I hope…
The middle and rear fuselage have the usual former/tab/skin construction with no fit problems.

Thanks, Tino

I checked that the assembly diagrams show the engine fan blades oriented the way I assembled them. The shadow effect on the printed blades only makes sense with this orientation that, as Isaac pointed out, is not correct. Not to worry about…
The horizontal tail structure is very elaborated. Yet again, the laser cut formers spare a lot of work. I guess that the holes between the double hinges are not correct. They can be filled with printed paper. As the kit has “simple” and “complex” versions, it is sometimes tricky to devise what parts should be used and precisely where to cut.

nice progress

@Isaac - the internal structure seems to be well engineered.
Today’s pictures show the vertical tails and rudders. The laser cut formers fit nicely inside the skin. GPM’s thick paper lends itself well to the nasty treatment needed to get a semblance of double curvature. The checkered tops help to disguise the joints.

So neat and clean. Lovely work, Ricardo.

Almost as good as your Vimy!

@Dan – The Vimy and the A-10 are very different beasts Glad you liked the Vimy
The engine mounts have wire links for the engines but not for the fuselage. I’d prefer links to the fuselage, as the gluing surface is much smaller. Anyway, I’ll leave the engines alone for the time being. Otherwise, the assembly would not be easy to handle.

The A-10 wingtips have a very peculiar shape that seems to be well modelled in this kit. The laser cut structure has some parts related to the wingtips. There is the option of separate control surfaces, that I intend to take. Many parts are either used on the “simple” or the “complex” version. Much care is needed to get the right parts.
I added paper rolls and parts to help getting the desired shape for the flaps. The leading edge is hard to get right, both because of the small curvature radius and GPM’s thick paper.

Beautiful and precise work Ricardo, but isn't the internal structure a bit overdone? This makes Halinski internal structures look basic....

Cheers,
Erik
