A-10 gpm 1/33

The A-10 Thunderbolt II, affectionately called Warthog, needs no introduction. It has been around for quite some time and, being an eye-catching subject, several paper kits have been devoted to it.
GPM’s kit dates from 2019. I was lucky to get a copy from GPM before it went out of print. The green/grey/charcoal camouflage scheme is my favourite and is excellently rendered in the kit. By the way, the kit is very, very ambitious. I counted over 2000 parts. The real number is illusive, as many parts are optional. Some may be used instead of others or not used at all. Anyway, there is much more than enough to keep anyone happy for a long time.
I bought a complete set, including the “basic” kit, the laser cut structure and laser cut details, provided in several sheets of coloured paper, and the plastic canopy.
The first pictures, as usual, show the kit.

It will be a very impressive model with lots of detail.

Enjoy the build.

I hope so, Isaac
The kit includes plenty of ordnance, much more than the maximum that can be carried at the same time. I choose to assemble it all and decide later what to hang from the plane.
The pictures show a pair of huge GBU-10 bombs. I noted that the parts are printed in the direction that makes curvatures harder to achieve, which is a pity. Well, that’s how life is. On the other hand, the laser cut card formers spare a lot of cutting time.

Thanks for the comments
The first picture shows the wheel blockers. On the other, there is some more ordnance: a couple of BLU-27, a large external fuel tank and an ECM pod.

@ Erik - I guess this choice will be popular here
Continuing with the ordnance, today’s pictures show a couple of Sidewinders and GBU bombs. I had to delaminate the missile bodies. Otherwise, it would be impossible to roll them properly. A paper roll inside helped to get the correct shape.

You're doing a great job. I have this kit and your build will serve as a great guide.
What did you use for the paper roll in the sidewinders? Looks like a candy stick.
