A more ... 'accurate' Tiger Moth
I have been playing with this idea for a long time and finally I got myself some time to actually work on it.
A Tiger Moth is a great name for an airplane but however good the DH.82 looked, it never really resembled a Tiger Moth. I decided to change that a little. I took Zio's model and projected the 'livery' of a genuine tiger moth onto the wings and fuselage. The build was, as always heaps of fun. I love Zio's planes. |

Well done, you make a beautiful model.
But we have also this one: 1/72 Tiger Moth ZK-AIA New Zealand Paper Model - EcardModels Last edited by Jan Kytop; 10-25-2023 at 02:47 PM. |

Great looking model and good idea. That reminded me of a thread long ago of someone projecting bird skins onto models of fighters. Some were meh but some were really great like House Finch, Mallard Ducks and Bold Eagles. Blue Herron skin was stunning-it was dead on like US Navy mid war fighter scheme . My favorite was House Finch skin on Hurricane. I had those pictures saved but they are somewhere on old PC hard drive.

Fun concept, nicely executed!
I'd hate to see what an F-111 Aardvark looks like |

Thanks, friends.
The bird-liveries are great ideas. I love to see a Kingfisher. I think most modern jets aren't that suitable to take on animal coats (except tiger meet liveries, maybe) but I could see an F-105 in wasp stripes. |
