Grumman Duck in 1/48
Happy Thanksgiving!
Probably some of you recall the scratchbuild of this model I did a couple years ago, at that time I had hopes of making it available if I could refine it a bit, that didn't happen because of a computer failure loosing alot of the files, but I've been redoing them maybe not exactly the same but I think ready to try a build again, I thought at a reduced size for time. Here is a start on the test build we'll see how it goes...

I would expect you to be building the quacking variety of duck, but a J2F is very welcome. Can't recall if one exists in this scale in paper yet.

Probably will be available in 1/33 as that is the original scale of this project…
Not a quacker but a “North American Bird”…

Aaron I don't remember your duck? Did you do the fg one?
Moving on to the fuse, starting from the back, using glue strips and then putting the formers in after. Note that the formers shouldn't go all the way to the lower edge. then test fitting the underside former. I included a simplified interior with green sides, and a couple simple side pieces, I did put plastic in the lower windows, I think it's cool the duck had a "downstairs". then can glue the lower former on, and sanded lightly to even up any irregularities. I don't glue to the formers but to the edge of the skins only so can line it up better. similar with the top former of the hull above.

Finishing the pictures of hull construction, the formers for the hull and sides, note that I cut most but not all of the wheel wells, and the formers don't come all the way up to the top so there's room for the top large former.
