I am glad to see you are using real structural supports for the wings and fins.

Also, I am impressed by how you kept the parts clean.

Very clean and precise work, especially on the joints of the various fuselage segments, hardly visible and indeed, not a trace of spilled glue. Very impressive and well done!

I agree, too! Very clean work. The joints are hardly visible, even in large format pictures, and paper edge colouring matches perfectly.

I am very grateful for your reply and appreciation. I still maintain my passion for this aircraft, which had little record in the Korean War (Shot down 8 enemy planes, including MiG-15 and Yak-15) and was soon retired, but as the world's first jet engine carrier aircraft, it still left its footprint. My progress is still ongoing, and the structure of the front landing gear is a bit difficult for me. I am looking for some alternative materials. During this period, a portion of the canopy was processed.

I am impressed with your canopy framing.

What type of glue did you use?

You also must have a very steady hand to apply the frames to the clear canopy plastic.

More details please.

Hi Isaac, I really appreciate your attention.
I used a glue that uses alcohol as a solvent, which can be used for adhesion between paper and plastic. But its own concentration is too high, making it difficult to operate, so I first squeezed it into a plate and diluted it with alcohol, the degree of dilution is until you pick it up with a toothpick and no longer see the spider silk pulled out. Of course, you can also further dilute it because the evaporation rate of alcohol is very fast, which can provide you with ample time for your subsequent operations.
When I was positioning the transparent plastic sheet and paper frame, I didn't have a very steady hand, which was not as difficult as you imagined. As you can see from the photos in front of me, I used a lot of adhesive tape of paint masking. This type of tape is easy to remove after use. I use it to position the two parts before applying glue. Gluing is not done in one go, but is divided into multiple parts because of the adhesive tape, which keeps the paper and plastic parts in a stable position.
By the way, my glue will also overflow from the edges, but don't worry, when it is in a semi solidified state, I can easily remove it with a tweezer.
