Following the comments of RyanShort1, I completely reworked the fuselage of my Philippine Navy Piper. It was too big in relation to the wings, which modified the silhouette and the position of the struts and landing gear, the base being an old model, more a toy than an accurate model. I also reworked the engine. The result isn't perfect, as there are other details to be taken up, but it's better all the same. Now, if you want a model that's accurate and easy to assemble without modifications, look no further than DGA models! |

Bravo Jan, I'm glad to see those 2 built! I'm sorry you had to redo the wings of the FG model, but I don't recolor them anymore after I learned from a former FG designer that Chip would instruct them to extend the wings to fill the page.
I'll see if I can recolor the TSMC Cub to that scheme in the future. For now I'm obsessed with recoloring PapierAvion/Airigami airliner templates into Philippine liveries. I've also started a 1:200 recolor series of S&P propliners into Philippine Airlines pre-1980s livery. So far I have a DC-4A done, to be followed by a DC-3 and DC6B and AW Argosy. I also plan to do Stefan's Beech 18 and Pablo's Short 360 and possibly a YS-11. |

This comment made my day bright! As with all of my model designs, I worked very hard to make the DGA Cub accurate and straightforward to build. I am very pleased that you recognize that! I love seeing the Auster included in this series of builds! |

Thank you gomidefilho!
Take any two-seater L-bird, Taylorcraft L-2, Aeronca L-3, Piper L-4 or Auster. Remove the engine, cut off the nose and replace it with a streamlined cockpit and a third seat. The result is a three-seater training glider (2 students and an instructor) that will enable you to train hundreds of assault glider pilots in preparation for the 1944 landings and other military operations (Market Garden, crossing the Rhine, etc.). Here, for example, is the Taylorcraft model H. SandP model, recolored by Rata. |
