Mały Modelarz Me-410

Ok, so I was gonna build a computer drawn project.

Now, I'm going to subject myself to this instead.

It is a Bohdan Wasiak designed model. He is my least favorite designer, ever.

The model already shows color and marking errors and I can only hold out hope that it sort of fits together OK without a lot of bad words and throwing things.

I blame this on Dan's Fly model build.....

Oh, I will NOT be building the cockpit detail as it's very crude and I want to improve my chances for success.

The graphics look pretty good. How is the paper?

The paper is fine, Don. No hint of the pressed chipboard type paper of old Maly kits in this one.

Greg!

Well...I like the colors on the paper than mine and the cover art is cool too. I can't wait to see what happens along the way especially since it's from your favorite designer!

First the Karas now the 410. Maybe the Kursk next??

I think I'll be drawing the line at the Kursk....

Speaking of this model the first paragraph of the instructions says exactly what I'm afraid of...

Gregg,

I looked at this again and my reader showed some hidden meaning...

You'll make it look great.

So far, I am not impressed. Formers are undersized so I have to wrap them to improve fit. That would be fine if the skin sections could butt up against each other flushly, but they don't.

Nose pieces are definitely off a bit.

Ugh.

I'm sitting here thinking about this build. I'm already not happy with it. I'm inclined to go work on something else. I think I'll continue on to see how the rest of the fuselage goes and then determine if I go any further with it.

I have yet to finish a Maly model. The results just are not worth the time invested. There's already too many models and not enough lifespan for me to waste the time. But good luck anyway.

There are good Maly kits, but as always it depends on the designer. I have built a Bohdan Wasiak designed kit, but that was a long time ago in my card building infancy. I have also abandoned a Bohdan design in mid build. This may be the second one....
