Thanks, Rifleman and Spgifford
Made up the seat. glued the two sides together, the fit was ok. added the outer skins all went well. glud the skin to the back of the cockpit only I had the same problem as Erik had in that the skin is about 1.5 mm too small giving a gap at the bottom. i did give the inner skin a sand, but I would have lost the alignment of the canopy runners. made the skeleton for the engine skins starting to fix the top and side engine covers.

Beautiful David, the close-up pictures show your wonderful and clean build! I see in this Halinski Spitfire version the same gap that I observed in my Mk1a build, when trying to close the aft cockpit fuselage section. With a bit of copying and pasting it can be solved and ultimately you won't see anything of it.
Cheers, Erik |

Thanks, Michael and Erik as you will in the last photo I painted a strip of card to fill the gap.
finished glueing down the engine panels. and added some little bumps. Made up the exhausts these were tricky as they chained shape and turned 90%. next the spinner and propeller supports section behind the cockpit with camera opening and camera lens. added to the rest of the fuselage. the gap filled in the bottom of the back cockpit skin.

Thank you for sharing the detailed production steps. Your Spitfire is build very beautifully. It is one of my favorite two types of fighters, and the other is the Mustang I am working on. Like you, the Spitfire style abdominal skin I made a few years ago also encountered a gap, and at that time I couldn't think of a better way to handle it.
Additionally, based on my own experience, it is best to install the edge strips connecting the cockpit cover and fuselage at the last moment as they can be used to fill assembly gaps: |

Halinski’s Spitfire kits are among my favourites. This pink livery and the PR details add to the charm. Keep on the great work, David
