1/100 De Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk
Hi All. this is Bruno's DHC-1 Chipmunk. This is pretty much an out of the box build of a simple post WW2 trainer. De Havilland built this for training purposes in Canada but later found its way to the Uk and other countries as a very easy to fly and fairly long lived training aircraft. Its maiden flight was in 1946 and lasted until the 1990s in the RAF.
The kit was in trainer yellow and had very few parts. I edited the kit by orienting the parts vertically to take advantage of the vertical grain of the card stock to allow smoother rolling of the fuselage and wing parts. also i changed the drum wheels to simple discs stacked together to give a more rounded tire look... |

finished
the parts fit well and when I actually worked on the kit, it went fairly quick.
Here she is ready to join my 1/100 scale Aerodrome. |

Neat little Chippie!
The S&P versions of any type always manage to keep the fun in paper modelling.
