Excellent craftmanship. Especially where the wings mate to the fuselage. Much too difficult for my skill level.

This is the first build of the XB-70 that is not wrinkled I have seen.

Great finish.

Guys, thank you very much. I am very glad that you like the model. It is a great encouragement for further work.
Since I didn't do any reports, I'll try to make up for it and add some more photos and details from the build in several other posts.

The model

Build took less than four years.
The model lenght is 120 cm, wing span is 66,5 cm.

It is downloaded from Ecardmodels. Thanks to YankeeBoy for adding the link.

The construction is quite simple. In practice, these are only parts of the skeleton and skin.
There is a minimum of auxiliary parts. A bonus are detaied cockpit and landing gear.
The simplicity of the construction is also the biggest weakness of the model.
The skin also fulfills the role of a cariing element. Some parts as ruders or canarde are applyed directly on there.
I can't imagine how to build the model no wrinkled. Not to mention manipulating him.
On other hand, that the model can still be built even in this basic state is demonstrated by Chris Knowlton's build in this thread.
I also have to say that there are no design flaws here. Everything fits.
From this point of view, I took the model as a semi-finished product and significantly improved it.

Skeleton

I filled frames with cardboard where possible. I used 1 mm for straight and 0.5 mm for rounded surfaces.
Glued with Super glue. This ensured that the whole model was solid and I didn't have to worry about grabbing it in my hands.
