Yes, these are also on the way. As I would like to avoid the use of superglue or any other equivalent which is dangerous specially for me. I will implement another way of building the radome. (I have usually built them with the method of the tutorial I post in your other thread, It is also valid and even better as you can see in the pics of the tutorial, but at least for this test model, I wonīt be using this product).

I post again the tutorial here cause may be useful for some other people and also in some other parts.

I add a picture of some objects I use to bend and give curved shape to the edges of card.

But I repeat that I am not going to use this method in this model.
and then...?

Iīm going to use Eggs!
Toy plastic eggs available in any bazaar at the price of 1 or 2 euros the dozen. More or less.
There are several sizes and they can be used for boeing and also dc-9 in 1/50 scale depending on the size you buy.

The image explains all...
Surprised ???

Just wait...

The dc-9 has the three main cockpit windows flat and with edges. Not curved as in the original model. And of course all edges above and below are in the same plan as in a boeing plane. On this image there is a little distorsion due to objetive, distance and perspective but there are in the same plan.

I have finished the re-designing. Of course the parts above and below the fuselage have been also changed. Will see If they fit well cause a curved line is longer than a straight line...

I will cut this part, fix the clear plastic and put the very same part below to get the same effect that the other windows in the rear section.

I agree with you 100%.

Regarding your new cockpit windows, the 2D windshield wipers would be used as it is? If I were you, I'll reconsider the position of them.

No, these are only for reference. I can not install any detail at this stage. I will handle the cockpit section a lot and for a long time because I have to design and install also the front stairs and operative door (interior galley, etc... but anything else of the interior in this model). This requires a lot of movements of the complete nose section. So, no wipers, pitot, sensors, etc by now. These will be intalled in the last stage of the model together with the electrical dischargers in the wing tips, tail, tail cone, etc...

Here is a picture of another dc-9 with all this intalled.

Fortunatelly the FAA inspector is not comming around today or I would have a problen regarding the nose landing gear tires...

By the way, this dc-9 is a 50 series and donīt have the anti gravel ring in the tire cause it has a separate anti gravel part as the real aircraft. I will do it on this 30 series Iberia model to show how to install in the tire with or without rubber.

Another DC-9 looks gorgeous!!
What did it happen to the tire? Rubber deterioration? Some of my diecast models have the same issue. So I don't like rubber as a material.

I have many diecast models with rubber tires and I never had a problen.

I built that model many years ago. The curious thing about this dc-9 tire is that ONLY ONE of the two tires has been damaged by time. The other one is mint. I bought the pair from a model shop in a bag like the one in the picture.
Anyway, I must agree with you. Card is forever, plastic or rubber not.

I have been working in the rest of rivets and other detail in the fuselage before installing the window glass and the "fake" interior.
