And finished on this December 25th, the Letécoére Late 26-2, F-AILY of the Compagnie Generale Aeropostale, this model flew from Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil to Bolivia in 1928, covering more than 1500 km of unexplored territory by air, to generate air routes that are still used today by LATAM, Aerolineas Argentinas and other companies. Piloted by Jean Mermoz and Antoine St Exupery, the F-AILY represents a milestone in the history of Latin American aviation, especially in southern South America. Model 1/100 by Le Criquet with minor modifications. I leave photos with the book about Aeropostale and St Exupery by researcher Teomar Ceretta, which covers the operations here in this corner of the Americas.

The only thing that I added to the model are the actuators and their hooks and the wind turbine. I will certainly make other models from this prolific and generous designer, a specialist in these inter-war French jewels. ![]() |

It goes without saying that my creations are gathered to the highest standards. Bravo, and there's nothing more encouraging to continue.
As I like to say, I consider a model to be nothing more than an illustration and a means of sharing a beautiful story, whether technical or human. For me, 2025 will be the culmination of an approach that goes back more than 10 years (already) through a presentation of my models (always at 1:100) entirely thought out with this in mind. To be continued, then, for those who appreciate my approach.

Péricles - Your threads are always fascinating, with much information on aviation history and your model building methodologies.
Le Criquet - Your website is an enormous compedium of priceless information. You have designed so many beautifully engineered and beautifully executed models of historic aircraft and you, too have provided us with a rich source of valuable model building techniques. I cannot express how forunate we participant in the Forum are to be able to have access to all this. And, of course, our community includes many other world-class model designers and builders who generously, courteously, and coorperatively share their skills and experience. We are living in another Golden Age of model building. Don |
