I've never seen B-17 in those colors. I might have seen pictures of Coastal Command HP Halifax,HP Hampden and Lockheed Ventura in very similar scheme. Very educational

My first new addition to this initiative is the Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless from Scissors and Planes in 1/100 Scale.

One of the direct effects of the war in the Americas was the submarine war promoted by the axis, especially by the German submarine weapon, which was especially efficient between 1942 and 1943. To this end, the US Navy allocated important resources in the Caribbean Sea region and the Gulf of Mexico (America, I'm not going to get into this silly controversy). An example is this SBD-5 used by the USMC's VMS-3 in May 1944, the Dauntless were used for anti-submarine patrol, especially for ships that were on the surface (renewing the air and recharging batteries while sailing using diesel engines). Note the white/light gray scheme of the Atlantic theater.

Beautiful Dauntless! I really like that Atlantic anti-submarine warfare color scheme.

Good historical background info. Many thanks.

Boeing XB-15

The Boeing XB-15 (Boeing 294) was a United States bomber aircraft designed in 1934 as a test for the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) to see if it would be possible to build a heavy bomber with a 5,000 mi (8,000 km) range.
When it first flew in 1937, it was the most massive and voluminous airplane ever built in the US.
On 6 May 1943, the Army Air Forces converted the only prototype into a transport, the aircraft being redesignated XC-105; by this time, the aircraft was nicknamed "Grandpappy" by 20th Troop Carrier Squadron airmen.
Boeing XC-105 Grandpappy of the 20th Troop Carrier Squadron into US Army Air Force at 1/100th scale with color of my own over an ARBUZ Modelbouw kit.
Another fine kit model very well designed by Arungga Bastarsyah and a pleasure to assemble this kit as well.
Best Regards, José antonio Rodríguez aka Proudly Tigertony100.

Beauty and the beast in one aircraft! Lovely work with that XB-15.

(If there might be a way to purchase the plans for this model, I'd be glad to learn about it. It's on my wish list for making a re-scaled version.)

Fantastic model. If Hugo Junkers have ever seen it he would have been delighted. Unfortunately he died two years before XB-15 flew.
