Very nice work, Isaac. The instructions are very helpful in understanding the assembly process.

Exclamation Fuselage center section-exhaust area and rear

Going aft on the fuselage is the section where the main engine exhausts is located.

Even though there are two exhaust nozzles, in the real plane it is a single engine in which the exhaust is split into two and those nozzles pivot down and aft when taking off, hovering and landing horizontally. The nozzles rotate in conjunction with the two lift engines forward of the main engine.

Looking very interesting, Isaac. The graphic quality is a huge improvement to the original FlyModel!

Exclamation Nose section

Simple shapes, but transitioning from slanted cones to rectangular rounded corner sections.

The cockpit section is open on top

The cockpit tub is built and dry fit, but will not be glued until the very end. It will be inserted from above. The reason for that is that I may not need to add weight to the nose, but if I do, I have this option available to me

The nose section looks great. I love your idea of leaving the cockpit tub out until you determine if you have a tail dragger, or not).

Exclamation Tilting rear exhaust

This model designer included a feature that allows to hand tilt the exhaust nozzles. At first, I did not understand the figure on the original print, but finally understood it.

here is that figure:
Yak-38 Forger Gary repaint version-tilt-fig.jpg

My opinion is that this is a "cute", but useless feature because not only is it an extra complication, but it is also a very flimsy feature that will break apart in a few back and forth movements. And to be accurate, you will need to close all the doors when the nozzles are pointing aft........

I will build this model with all the doors and nozzles in a position for vertical flight

Here is the exhaust location showing the heat shields

and installed ( apologies for the glue mess, it will be cleaned up later ).
