My only modification is to ditch the cardstock spars that will fall apart at first attempt to attach and use wood tooth picks instead.

The only complication is understanding the many old hand drawn instructional figures and how to assemble the parts. But it is coming along Isaac

It took me a while to understand the sketches and parts that make up the landing gear.
Each segment is made of a tooth pick dowel wrapped in the paper part and drilled holes to insert metal paper clip pins super glued together. Came out very strong. I may have missed some small parts and replaced some as it became a useless project trying to make all the small parts. The wheels are cardboard circles stacked and glued. Then sand them to shape on a rotary tool, paint them with Tamiya Black Rubber paint. Here are the parts ![]() ![]() main gear attached ![]() ![]() ![]() Nose gear ![]() ![]() the model is on gear now. ![]() ![]() ![]() doors and fences are up next. Isaac

The landing gear came out great. I love what you've done.
In my opinion, they were more complex than they had to be. Gary

Being a VTOL ( Vertical Take Off and Landing ) aircraft, the actual aircraft relied on its two lift engines and main engine nozzles pointing down. All that jet blast created a huge air disturbance above and below. The Yakovlev designers resorted to placing various fences and retracting many wheel covers as possible.
Here are photos of these features on the model ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Isaac
