Yes, Gary has done a great improvements in re rendering these old models. Many of them do need a repaint using today's tools to bring them to life.

Canopy is next

Isaac, I'm assuming that you'll be vaccuforming a canopy for this kit? I believe that you had purchased a canopy for you earlier build.

Yes, I will be vacuforming a new canopy.

Since this is a second time, I am building the model, I do not have a spare canopy. So I will make a new one.



Here is the paper canopy as a dry fit.



I made a new Plaster of Paris mold.

The canopy is done.




next, I immerse the canopy in a new floor wax I purchased ( similar to my old Future which is no longer made ).



after soaking for a few minutes, it is placed on sticks to dry





then cover it overnight
