Soviet Monster
I just did a little surfing at random looking at funny/weird stuff, like funny ads etc
and came across this Soviet monster of an aeroplane English Russia Russian Flying Fortresses apparently it was some secret (as always) project the Soviets were up to during WW2 there are not many pics from the original, but some enthusiasts made a replica from existing drawings i wonder what it would be lika as a paper model, as i said - it is HUGE

The image is totally fictitious. Here is info on the actual K-7 aircraft.

The site itself EnglishRussia is a very interesting site. It isn't loaded with a lot of propaganda stuff and you will see some problems that Russia has which boggle the mind. I would recommend it to anyone.

Someone's built one in 1/144 but in that OTHER medium on Internet Modeler - have been googling for any hint of the 3D model behind the rendered images but with no joy.
This is so cool!! Apart from the corrugations on the wings, the shapes are quite simple so it would probably be a relatively simple model - unless one went nuts with the interior under the glasshouse fuselage...

did this thing really fly
seems impossible... but hey the jumbo flies so... (and bumble bees) but when you look at the specs, 21tonnes dry weight, stopping dist 400 metres?? seems impossible

I had read about this giant aircraft. Eight machine guns, 3 t. of bombs, 53 m wingspan, 28 m long ...
A true monster in his era. |
