Hi McHale,

The longnosed Otter is a Turboprop conversion, the originals were equipped with radial engines.

The otter model is still under development by Design Group Alpha, but as you can see, the design is coming right along.

It's good to see your work displayed here again, Jim!

I love the Otters and am glad to hear that DGA has them under development. One of my closest friends and colleagues, who just retired as the Manuscript Curator at the Military History Institute, served with an Army aviation unit in Vietnam and had some hair-raising adventures in Otters. I look forward to presenting him with a model of one of the ships he flew in.

I still have happy memories (and reread from time to time) your great Beaver build thread.

Best wishes for the holidays and the new year to you and the lucky Otter recipients.

Don

Don!
I was hoping that you would notice this thread and chime in.

I would appreciate it if you would do a little research as to the correct markings for the otter that you desire.

Thank you for the compliment on the beaver build thread. This otter model is a little more technical to build than the beaver and will definitely need similar instructions.

I was bad!!! Maybe I should get a lump of coal in my Christmas stocking. I did not give the otters that I had previously pictured to my young nephews.:(

Instead I gave those white otters to the neighbor kids...

I quickly built three more otters with a bit of colour to them for my nephews:p
