Thank you all friends!!
More progress after the Hurriane Alex, which prevented me from advancing faster (too much humidity!) Let's make the exhausts. And now, the bomb bays added to the structure. Now let's proceed with the belly skin of the airplane. If you want the bomb bays open, like me, you have to cut out the "doors". And now that we are it, let's attach the pilot's place to the structure. |

Now the following is the process to make the main fuselage. I started with the air intake pieces.
Building the fuselage. Nothing complicated, but you have to take good care of not break too much the paper when doing the bends. To make the radar mesh, I used a fabric my wife had laying around, and painted it with a black sharpie (bless the sharpie, it sure made my day with this model!). The mesh from the upper radar (FLIR) The mesh from the lower radar (DLIR) Landing gear added. |

Fantastic job! I like the mesh - makes it look very realistic!

The building reports I've checked of this Halinski kit all show a closed top fuselage. But I decided to make the mid-air refueling station.
I had to investigate quite a good deal of videos, photos and some videos, as the instructions are not very clear about this piece. At last, I found that this piece "pops-up" from the top fuselage when is being refueled. Now for the wings... oh, I really had a hard time on these. Not easy. |

Incredible work Gerado! It's really coming together quickly now. It's quite impressive seeing the cockpit in the bare frame - shows how small a section of the aircraft is for the pilot, and the rest for all the mechanics that won't be recreated in the model.

Thank you all for following the thread.
And this is all, friends! After finishing the details... the whole month... I leave you the Lockheed F-117 A Nighthawk, paper model from Halinski. And so you can see what a monster this model really is, here you can it on my PC table. And as this work was done thanks to my wife, with her cheers and hurras, I'm posting this picture we took in the Amigo Air Show in El Paso, Texas, 3 years ago. This is the second hardest work I've done in paper, after the F-16 (also from Halinksi, and that I also did a building report in the forum), because although the model has few curve pieces, the cuadrangular configuration of the plane demands the modeler a high level of precision. I cannot say my model is perfect, it has many "oops". This tells me that after 100 or so built models, I still have many things to learn... and I need to keep on cutting paper. It is definetively not for the fainted hearts. But it sure gives a great deal sense of accomplishment. Thanks to all and thanks to my wife for her support. |
