S199 IAF 1948 in 1/50 scale!

This is a great model! You can find it here 1/50 Avia S.199 (Mule) IAF by Marek Classics - ECardmodels.com Shop - Downloadable models and

This one took some time, start, stop, forget, find, start, stop, forget, find again, well, you know the routine! I finally was in a slump last week, and never seeming to get anything done. I get like that from time to time. Anyhow, I stopped spinning from duty to duty and project to project and sat down and just finished something, anything! And that thing I finished was this model. Now I feel much better, back on track.

The glass canopy was made with the paper frame and plastic sheeting. The wire was made with stiffened thread. I could not get the cannon to roll right (I think I used too heavy of cardstock) so I substituted the paper with wood.

In the pictures is my FG ME-109 that I fitted out with glass canopy and other details, rescaled to 1/50.

Not too bad, I do have a long way to go to gt "good" at making these things, but for now I am happy to have completed one!

Thanks Wyven.
Mostly I m hppy with it. I would like to have done the wheel wells under the wings (I have started the Marek Me-109 dora from the Spanish War and I am doing the wells) and some of my fitting needs work. I would like also to do a better job on the wheels too, mine look to cylinder like with no real shape. Oh well. Like I said, I am pretty happy with this one, my first Marek model.

Thanks Don.
I must confess, just like when I put the kids new bed frames together, the dresser, and TV Stand, I had parts left over! I could not find where part 19 went at all, it drove me nuts. I have no idea were the two parts labeled 24 go either. And I forgot about the prop blade wraps until the glue on the base and the spinner assembly and prop were well dried! Oh well. Live and lean. I will put those parts with all those "extra" nuts and bolts and thingymajigs I have left over from other projects!
