I think you should give up on this and build a boat with butterflies on it.
I think I saw one somewhere on this site.

Almost done this nightmare project!...

well, maybe I shouldn't be so harsh...it just didn't go as nicely as I had hoped.
And because of so many other projects, I just lost interest in it.

I have been tinkering with it every now and then,
but with Papermate's BIG F-18 progressing so nicely,
I just couldn't be bothered anymore.

Got a couple of F18 canopies from the PaperModelStore (only $2 each)
and it made life a lot simpler.

struggled with the canopy frame, cutting it it up and reassembling onto the plastic canopy
(which was really really stupid...because when I was done, and everything was glued in place,
I found the one piece frame I had created when I first printed this kit!!)

anyway, just slapping on the Tail surfaces and the final bits...
and I've got to spray a little sealer and some flatcote to help hide some glue spots
and then it will be all done.
Should look okay hanging way up high in the corner where nobody can see it very well!!

One last shot of "Big Blue" hanging in the corner.

Looks great when you turn the light out! haha

Man, I am running out of room though!
My cabinet is almost full!
...and there isn't much space above to hang the big planes.
So they get pushed over into the Automotive section!

The way i did a clear canopy, was to build the paper one....wax the inside of it(to prevent from soaking in) and fill with plaster of paris or modeling resin..I also put in 2 wire handles sticking out the bottom. When dry peel paper off and touch-up sand to make smooth. Trap some clear plastic between two sheets of plywood with a hole just a bit larger than the canopy, I heat mine over a stove burner, then push the resin (or plaster) buck through the plastic by the handles, let cool, trim and there you go......Rich

my way was a lot easier
...I clicked on the "buy now" button, cracked a beer, watched a movie and then went to bed.
