Lockheed Hudson Bomber
Ahoy
Here is another find in my collection down in the boson locker. I have no idea what i got down here i have boxs of models I built in my life time that were packed decades ago. I,m just now discovering what i have and havent seen in years. Here is one of them I built this one in 1992 after I got discharged from my beloved navy.I had land sickness couldn,t sleep that night I stayed up and watched the late show. A classic movie it was It stared Tyrone Power YANK IN THE RAF They were flying Hudson Bombers. I got the urge to build one of these So the bext day I ordered a set of plans from the Cleavland model supply Edward T. Packer the plans came with all patterens and different scales I ordered the 1/12th scale odd scale leaving a wingspan of 31 inch,s big enough. this was built useing my methods of cardstock wood wire all transparentcies were vacuformed the windows were filled in with clear acetate plastic.. The build wasn,t difficult to do it was a fast build it took me 4 months to do could have been longer but with all the patterens that were supplied with the plan set made life easy for me. so it was almost built like the kit, only difference is the vacuforming, and materieals used. The Hudsons were one of the first of the lend lease program we sponsored the English with they were quite favorable we loaded them up on liberty ships to take them to England. They were used exclusively for coastal cammand duties. A very Beautifull plane she is so here is the attachment of my Hudson Bomber.

Cheers!
Boats, nice picture of a fine piece of modeling. I've always liked the Lockheeds' lines, and the Hudson's tubby look is especially appealing. Amazing that the colors are still bright after all that time in storage - good packing, eh?
Thanks for sharing it with us.

Boats,
Your Hudson looks great. Model Card produced a 1:33 scale of the Hudson which I built and still have. The Number for the Model Card kit is MDC 24 if anyone wants to build one and can find one. My inventory is empty on the kit. You built your kit with Cleveland plans which is quite an accomplishment. Ron |
